ABOUT THE DIRECTORS:


James Canfield (Administrator) is a graduate of The Woodlands High School and is currently attending Saint Louis University as a Theatre major. As an actor James has appeared in Saint Louis University’s Kid-Simple (Oliver, The Last Boy Virgin), Montgomery College’s You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown (Charlie Brown), Class Act Productions’ Disney’s High School Musical (Ryan Evans), and The Woodlands High School’s The Emperor’s New Clothes (The Emperor) and many more. James was cast in the Alley Theatre’s Houston Young Playwright Exchange 2008 and performed in the new play festival in August 2008. James is also an award winning playwright whose plays have been performed by Aside Productions, The Woodlands High School, Saint Louis University, and the Alley Theatre. His original show Within These Walls won the Texas Educators Playfest competition in 2007 and was produced and performed at the 2007 TETA convention. Last summer James’s play, Hera’s Legacy, was selected as one of the top six plays in the Houston Young Playwright Exchange 2007 at the Alley Theatre and was performed during the 2007 Play Festival.  James’s original show, World Collapsing, was recently selected from over 400 submissions as a Top 30 finalist for the prestigious 10 by 10 in the Triangle Festival at the Art Center in North Carolina. 
 

Alyssa Porter (Recording Secretary) is a graduate of The Woodlands High School and is currently attending Sam Houston State University and majoring in Music and Education. Alyssa has appeared in many theatre productions, including South Pacific, Annie, Les Miserables, Peter Pan, The Music Man, Honk!, Sweet Charity, and many more. This autumn, Alyssa will appear in Sam Houston State University’s opera production, Into The Woods. Alyssa recently became the Children’s Choir Director for the First United Methodist Church of Hunstville and has worked closely with Class Act Productions for the past several years. Alyssa has assisted in teaching the Class Act Theatre class for the past three years and was the musical director for The Aristocats, Kids, in 2008, 101 Dalmations, Kids, in 2007, and The Jungle Book, Kids, in 2006. Alyssa was assistant director and stage manager for Aside Productions’ debut show, Hera’s Legacy in August 2007 and Production Assistant for 2008’s Moirae.
 
 
Diane Goldsmith (Corresponding Secretary/Treasurer) is a graduate of The Woodlands High School and is currently attending Oklahoma University as a Music Education major. Diane has worked on many productions as both an actress and a technician. Diane’s credits include Forget About Tomorrow (Jocelyn), Into The Woods (Jack’s Mother), Fame (Ms. Bell), Peter Pan (Mrs. Darling), and The Music Man (Mrs. Shinn). Diane assistant directed 101 Dalmations, Kids, The Music Man, Junior, and The Aristocats, Kids, with Class Act Productions. Diane was publicity manager for The Woodlands High School’s The Emperor’s New Clothes and hair design for TWHS’s UIL State competitor, The Little Foxes. Diane is a Texas Forensic State Qualifier and a TMEA All Region and All Area Choir member. With Aside Productions, Diane has appeared as Elaine Hearn in Hera’s Legacy, as Diane in Moirae, and recently directed “Boss of Boston” in 2008’s An Evening of Original Plays.
 
 
Rachael Camp (Activities Coordinator) is a graduate of The Woodlands High School and is currently attending Oklahoma University and majoring in International Affairs. Rachael has been involved with theatre for many years and has appeared in The Emperor’s New Clothes, The House of Bernarda Alba, The Caucasian Chalk Circle, Deadwood Dick, and Within These Walls. Rachael has worked technically on many show also including Forget About Tomorrow (Publicity Manager), The Little Foxes (Costume Mistress), Into The Woods (Hair/Make-Up Design), Rachael is a Texas Forensic State Qualifier and was a Quarter Finalist at the national Harvard Forensics tournament in February 2007. Rachael recently appeared as Lachesis in Aside Productions’ Moirae in June 2008 and directed “The Memoir” as a part of 2008’s An Evening of Original Plays.


Kristine Carr (Media Consultant) or "Kris," is currently a senior at Saint Edward’s University in Austin, TX where she is pursuing a B.A. in Communications with a focus in media studies. She has worked in Walt Disney World’s Entertainment Department, performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland, acted as an extra regularly on the NBC television show Friday Night Lights as well as the MTV film Stop Loss, and has performed in numerous stage roles ranging from Hero in Much Ado About Nothing (St. Thomas University) to Clotho in Moirae (Aside Productions). Kris' play The Memoir won the Texas Educational Theatre Association's playfest contest back in 2005 as well as being performed as a part of Aside’s An Evening of Original Plays in 2008. In addition to working with Aside Productions she is the co-owner and webmaster of Dansby Focus Photography (for more info go to http://dansbyfocus.net. She is currently working on a screenplay to enter in Sundance's Screenwriter's Lab.
